The objective of the research and development process is to gather data on Kendal and research traffic calming measures. As we learn more about Kendal’s needs and the capabilities and costs of each traffic calmer, we should find an appropriate candidate to test. We aimed to collect both qualitative and quantitative data from Kendal to understand the full extent of the problem. Qualitative data was collected through interviews with Dr. Pegg and surveying residents of Kendal. Quantitative data was collected by analyzing traffic behavior along Kendal Dr. This data collection helped us to better define the problem by understanding the concerns of Kendal residents and by learning the traffic patterns.
